We are a growing GI practice seeking a highly motivated, accurate and productive Medical Billing & Coding Specialist individual to join our revenue cycle team. This role supports both coding and billing functions and requires someone who can work efficiently, communicate professionally, and take ownership of claim accuracy from the start.

 Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Enter and maintain patient demographics and insurance information
• Verify insurance eligibility and confirm coverage details
• Code and enter charges accurately (ICD-10, CPT, modifiers; E/M as applicable)
• Post and document patient payments, and balance daily deposits
• Work claims through resolution (corrections, appeals support, follow-up, documentation)
• Answer patient calls regarding statements/balances
• Set up payment arrangements and take payments over the phone

What We’re Looking For

• Certified Medical Coder or minimum 2 years of extensive coding experience (ICD-10, CPT, modifiers, and E/M)
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end medical billing processes
• Ability to read and interpret EOBs, recognize denial patterns, and take appropriate next steps
• Solid computer skills and comfort with fast-paced, high-volume data entry
• Excellent customer service skills—professional, patient, and confident on the phone
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to confidentiality and appropriate handling of protected health information (PHI)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable and Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the medical billing process and possess excellent analytical and communication skills. This position plays a key role in managing the billing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments, resolving claim denials, and maintaining strong relationships with both patients and insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Post and reconcile insurance payments (ERA, credit card, and checks)
• Post patient payments accurately and timely
• Monitor, analyze, and resolve claim denials, rejections, and scrubs
• Prepare and submit payer appeals and corrected claims
• File claims and handle payer recoupments and refund requests
• Prepare and process bank deposits
• Respond to patient and insurance inquiries via phone in a professional manner

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years relevant healthcare billing/accounts receivable experience involving patient interaction
• Proficiency in the full medical billing cycle and insurance follow-up processes

Job Purpose:

Recall & Referral Scheduler ensures patients are being contacted and scheduled efficiently. The Recall & Referral department will be responsible for contacting all physician recall patients and all physician referral patients to schedule an office consultation, an open access procedure or a recall procedure.

• Calling patients and scheduling their appointments

Occupational Summary:

A Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Charleston GI assists the Physicians and clinical staff by performing clerical and patient care duties under the direction of a Physician or Clinical Director. This person should have basic knowledge of clerical duties and medical terminology, as well as neat, legible handwriting and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the daily operations of receiving patients into the office for assessment.
• Assist physicians, nurses and other office staff as directed
• Provide and maintain patient safety and confidentiality
• Escort patients in the clinical area to appropriate exam rooms
• Obtain and record vital signs accurately
• Stock and maintain exam rooms with all items included on exam room inventory list
• Sanitize and straighten exam rooms between patient visits
